Centrality Ventures is a highly flexible, fully immersive blockchain incubator designed to help you scale your business within a blockchain ecosystem. We want to hear from innovators with ideas for projects or platforms that use, or could benefit from, a blockchain-based tech stack. We’re looking for both socially impactful consumer-facing applications, and infrastructure-level platforms.

We love to do great work with great people. No matter what stage you’re at – from early ideation to fully established – we’d love to hear from you!

Applications will re-open in August for October venture intake. (Deadline August 31st 2018).

Why join?

Our Tech, Your Business

While we’re making a significant investment in your business by bringing you into our incubator, we also appreciate the importance of retaining your independence in a startup environment. We believe that businesses have a greater chance of success being run by their founders than by investors.

As such, while we offer lots of support and advice, our ultimate goal is for you and your business to be self-guided, with as little interference from us as possible. While you take charge of pursuing your goals, we can help with mentorship, legal assistance, finding and hiring new employees, and technical support.

Programme Structure

01 — Application Stage:

  • Applications for our very first intake will open on 12 February 2018, and close on 01 March 2018. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview day at Crypto Hill (our Auckland offices). Applicants will get a chance to work from our offices, meet the other teams, and pitch their idea to our Centrality Ventures team. In the evening, teams will participate in a mini-hackathon, where they will be posed with a problem and will have to come up with a creative, robust solution.
  • Successful applicants will be informed the same week, and will become the first “residents” of the Centrality Ventures studio, starting on 4 April 2018.
  • During the application stage, we expect you to develop your ideas surrounding your business model, consumer proposition, revenue model, and goals for the programme and beyond. By the time you enter the studio, we expect you to hit the ground running. Be ready for the most productive time of your life!

02 — Acceleration Stage:

  • The Centrality Ventures programme begins with an acceleration stage; an intensive 3-month course designed to take you from the early stages of ideation to a market-tested business model, POC, and MVP.
  • This stage culminates in a Demo Day, where all residents will present their MVP and ongoing business plan and/or whitepaper to the Centrality team.

03 — Build Stage:

  • Residents who excel in the acceleration stage will have the option of negotiating additional time in the Crypto Hill offices and further integration with Centrality. During this time, you will expand on your progress so far with the goal of iterating upon your MVP, compiling a TGE and subsequently going to market.
  • While some residents may need no more than the initial seed funding of $100,000, others will need more extended support to reach market readiness. As such, supplementary funding from Centrality may be available – but where possible, our goal is for you to have secured ongoing revenue during the acceleration stage.
